Don't you dare look out your window. Darling, everything's on fire.

End of the year: It's that time of the year again! Exam time! We finished classes on Friday! I cannot believe it. This year has flown by! I finish exams on May 9, so just a few days separate me and my senior year. That is so crazy to me! I cannot believe it! Please keep all of the college students in your prayers as they get through their end of the semester exams! As you know, they are stressful for everyone! On an exciting note, tomorrow I will receive my class ring. There will be a nice ceremony that will explain the traditions of the ring and everything else. I'm really looking forward to it. My whole family gets to attend. Somewhere over the ocean... Somewhere over the ocean and through a few countries there is a Marine. There are thousands of Marines. Somewhere over the ocean there is a husband, a brother, a father, a son, a boyfriend, a uncle, a best friend. All of whom are fighting. Fighting to come home. Fighting for the United States. Fighting for the freedom of Afghanistan. Somewhere over the ocean is a man who is stronger and braver than no other. Since the beginning of February I have started talking to a boy I went to pre-school through elementary school with. However, he is no longer a little boy. He is a United States Marine on his second tour in Afghanistan. Talking to him has opened my eyes to a lot. I realize how much I take advantage of the most simply things in life. Such as laying here on my bed typing this blog post. I know that I will wake up tomorrow; he doesn't. However, he knows that he is risking his life to save millions of others. It is inevitable that these men and women are taking for granted each day. That risk their life for you. Let me ask you, what do you do for them? A thank you, a simple thank you means the world to these people. Next time you see someone in the military, I ask that you thank them. As they are doing so much more than we realize! "How two souls could be miles from one another, but still you and me have somehow found each other."

I'm terribly sorry it's been so long since I've written. I really thought I would keep up with this much better than I have.

Updates:
A lot has changed since December. We're well into 2012 now & I just recently took another step in my journey. On March 30 I registered for my last fall semester as an undergraduate. This is a little step, but it's a step none the less. I'm very anxious and nervous about next year. A lot will be happening. I will take the GRE and apply to numerous graduate programs across the state, hopefully one will let me in. Along with applying to graduate school, I will also be looking for a job...a big girl job. When did this happen?

Kappa Delta:
I have been working closely with my best friend planning Kappa Delta's Annual Nautilus Ball. Formal is only a week away! Gianna has worked very hard as the formal chair and I'm very proud of her. It has been a challenge for her as she has been student teaching. However, with some assistance she has gotten it all done! I'm hoping everything will run smoothly and it will be everything she wants it to be considering she is graduating on May 12! Tonight, we met five girls who accepted bids into our chapter yesterday! We are all very excited about them as they are all wonderful, beautiful women. They, too, will be attending formal! :)So excited to share that with them!

Darling, don't be afraid:
Well, back in November, my relationship with a boy came to an end. We were together over a year and that was one of the most challenging events I've experienced. I truly believe that was my first glimpse of real love. There is no doubt in my mind that we were in love. He would have (and still would) do anything for me and I would have (and will) do the same for me. However, we were just two very different people. I like to say we were right in all of the wrong ways and wrong in all of the right ways, if that makes sense. Although this has been very challenging for the both of us, we have remained friends. I'm very thankful that I have had the opportunity to know someone like him. He is an amazing man and I know there is someone very special out there who will make him feel like he is the luckiest man in the world. I, too, know that God has someone special for me and when the time is right, I'll find him.

Carolina Cup:
Carolina Cup 2012! What a blast. For those of you who do not know, Carolina Cup is the equivalent of the Kentucky Derby. A lot of the fraternities from North and South Carolina go and set up a huge tail gate! It was absolutely amazing seeing so many chapters of the same fraternities! Of course, they were accompanied by their beautiful sorority girl dates. Yes, I did meet another Kappa Delta! :) I went with a boy in Theta Chi! It was such a great time! I was able to spend it with some wonderful people! I even got to wear a Lilly dress and a big floppy hat. :) I'm already planning for next year! Watch out Camden, South Carolina! This Kappa Delta will be back for round two!

I suppose that's all for now. I'm going to try to be better about updating this!
As my journey continues I am excited about all of the new adventures and opportunities that await, but in the mean time "if I die in Raleigh, at least I'll die free."
